- UR / OBC (NCL) / EWS: First class from an AICTE-approved college in the listed discipline.

- First class in AMIE / AMIETE / GIETE in the listed disciplines is also eligible.
- Other equivalent disciplines and dual specialisations are not considered.
- CGPA/GPI/SGPA holders must submit the institute's percentage-conversion certificate at interview, or candidature is cancelled.
- Degree specialisation must match the branch entered in the form.
- Only Indian nationals can apply. Colour-blind candidates are not medically suitable for these posts.

Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT) – weightage 85 marks. See the BEL PE Syllabus 2026 Exam Pattern.
- Interview – weightage 15 marks; shortlisting from CBT in 1:5 ratio, discipline-wise and category-wise. Shortlist published on BEL website through query mode.
- Document Verification in original.
- Medical Examination by BEL medical authorities.
Minimum qualifying marks in CBT and interview separately: 35% for General/OBC/EWS and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD. Final merit uses both CBT and interview. CBT and interview can be answered in English or Hindi.

Documents Required
- Valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number (must stay valid through the process).
- Photograph: recent (not older than 3 months), passport size, colour, white background; JPG/JPEG; 100–200 KB; 200 dpi; 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm. No cap, hat or dark glasses; religious headwear allowed if face is visible.
- Signature: black ink on white paper, signature area only; JPG/JPEG; 80–150 KB.
- Matriculation / Higher Secondary certificate showing date of birth.
- B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering (or AMIE/AMIETE/GIETE) marksheets and degree; CGPA conversion certificate where applicable.
- EWS: Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2025-26 issued on or after 1 April 2026, photo pasted, signed and stamped.
- OBC (NCL): Central-list certificate issued on or after 1 October 2025 in the latest GoI format.
- SC/ST: certificate in the latest GoI format with date of issue.
- PwBD: certificate showing at least 40% disability in the latest format.
- Ex-Servicemen: Annexure-3 signed by the competent authority.
- NOC from current employer (Govt / PSU / autonomous body employees) at interview.
How to Apply for BEL Probationary Engineer 2026
- Open the BEL Job Notifications page and find 'Recruitment for the post of Probationary Engineer (E-II Grade) on All India Basis (Ref. Advt No. 17556/HR/All-India/2026)'. The apply link goes live on 28 October 2026 at 02:00 PM.
- Read the detailed advertisement and check eligibility before paying any fee.
- Step I – Registration: enter personal and contact details, click 'Generate OTP', enter both OTPs (mobile and e-mail), tick 'I Agree', click 'Re-verify' and 'Submit'. The Application Sequence No. (User ID) and password arrive by e-mail and SMS.
- Step II – Application: click 'Go To Application' (or log in again) and fill Personal, Additional, Communication and Qualification details, Declaration, and 5 CBT centres.
- Upload photograph, signature and documents, click 'Preview', correct any error, then 'Submit'. The form cannot be edited after this.
- Pay ₹1,180 (if applicable) on SBI e-Pay Lite and keep the Payment Acknowledgement Slip.
- Click 'PRINT' and save the form as PDF. Print is not available after the last date.
- Do not post a hard copy to BEL. Only one application per post; if more, only the higher Application Sequence Number counts.
