| 1) Graduation in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks, or post-graduation with at least 45% marks, from a recognised university. 2) B.Ed from an NCTE-recognised course (B.P.Ed / B.P.E. for Physical Education). 3) TET for upper primary level (Classes 6–8) passed, conducted by the UP Government or Government of India. - Male candidates cannot apply for girls' school posts, except visually impaired candidates for Music.
- Women may apply for boys' or girls' schools, but only one per subject.
- Only one application per subject is valid; if several are submitted, the last one counts.
- Candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh do not get UP reservation and are treated as unreserved.
- Candidates with more than one living spouse are not eligible unless exempted by the Governor.
Selection Process
- Written Examination – 120 MCQs, 360 marks (OMR based).
- Merit list on written exam marks. Tie-break: higher graduation percentage, then higher training-qualification percentage, then older candidate.
- Document Verification (at least 10 days' notice by SMS, e-mail and website).
- School allotment by the Director, Secondary Education, UP, Prayagraj, as per candidate preferences. No interview.
